The Lab Side · SAT Prep

Where Rigorous Prep Meets Personalized Attention.

Boutique SAT preparation designed for homeschool families who refuse to settle for a mass-market approach.

The Lab Side · Our Methodology

Deliberate Practice. Diagnostic-Driven. Deeply Personal.

The Lab Side is not a test-prep factory. Every student begins with a thorough diagnostic assessment that maps their exact strengths and gaps across every SAT domain — math, reading, writing, and evidence-based reasoning. From that baseline, we build a bespoke study plan that evolves every session.

Our instruction is founder-led and boutique by design. Small group sizes and individualized attention mean your student is never lost in a crowd of twenty. Each session targets the highest-leverage skill gaps first, so improvement is both measurable and efficient.

Because our families come from homeschool backgrounds, we understand flexible schedules, self-directed learners, and the importance of keeping the prep process intellectually honest — not just strategically 'game-able.' We prepare students to actually know the material, not merely to guess better.

The Lab Side · Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know Before You Enroll.

  • When should my student start SAT prep?

Most students benefit from beginning 6–12 months before their target test date. Earlier is better — it allows diagnostic work, skill-building, and multiple practice tests without the pressure of a looming deadline. We welcome students as early as 8th grade for foundational readiness.
  • What score improvement can we realistically expect?

Results vary by starting point, effort, and engagement outside sessions. That said, students who complete our full diagnostic-driven program and practice consistently between sessions typically see meaningful, measurable growth. We set honest expectations at the outset — we'll tell you what's realistic for your student specifically.
  • How are sessions structured and how long are they?

Sessions are built around each student's current diagnostic profile. A typical session opens with a brief review of the previous week's targeted practice, moves into direct instruction on the identified skill gap, and closes with timed practice under test conditions. Session length and frequency are established during the intake process and adapted as needed.
  • How does this work for our homeschool schedule?

Flexibility is central to how we operate. Because we serve homeschool families, we understand that your school day doesn't look like a traditional schedule. We work with families to find session times that integrate naturally into your existing homeschool week — including daytime availability that most brick-and-mortar centers can't offer.
  • How small are the groups?

Boutique and intentionally small. We limit enrollment to preserve the individualized attention that makes the Lab Side different from mass-market prep programs. Exact cohort sizes will be shared during the interest-list process.
